If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for an Balance of Plant (BOP) Mechanical Lead Engineer, located in Rock Hill, SC.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Act as Technical Lead for a variety of engineering projects in support of BOP mechanical scopes for US nuclear power plants pursuing power uprates and design modifications.
  • Lead a team of 10+ employees and contractors.
  • Identify mechanical resources within Global Engineering Services (GES) to support power uprate and modification projects.
  • Act as liaison/POC between Global Engineering and Component Services (GECS) and the Americas Engineered Systems and Solutions business unit, including:
    • Participating in weekly project status meetings, as needed
    • Supporting the BOP Mechanical PEM in the development of project technical descriptions and estimates
    • Acting as qualifying engineer, responsible engineer or task engineer for projects
    • Review/approve project documents
    • Provide management feedback on project performance
  • Provide input to GES’ Monthly Operations Report (MOR)
  • Overall role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Setting day-to-day operational objectives for individuals or teams, ensuring that policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed.
    • Proactively driving continuous improvement and recommending alterations to development and design to improve quality of products, processes, and/or procedures, and contribute to development of new methods and processes, as well as their introduction and to change management.
    • Lead specific aspects of group-level technical training. Leverages thorough knowledge of Westinghouse products and solutions as a differentiator to positively impact customer relationships.

 

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Strong business acumen.
  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical (preferred), Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering and Master of Science (M.S.)/Master of Business Administration (MBA) (preferred but not required).
  • 12+ years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to work with multiple functions to coordinate the flow of information.
  • Strong communication with leadership and general understanding of project management and financial models.
  • Several L3 competencies within the Global Competency Model; some L4s are a plus.
  • PE license is preferred, or ability to obtain within 2 years of accepting position.
  • Technical Leader Development Program (TLDP) Level 2 completed.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
