This position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Rock Hill, SC located @20-minutes north of Charlotte, NC. No relocation will be provided for this position. We are able to entertain all candidates authorized to work without sponsorship now and in the future as we are unable to sponsor Visa's for this opportunity.
Your Day-to-Day:
The successful candidate can expect to perform the following:
- Create technical documents and specifications, such as the development of schematics, combined wiring diagrams, termination drawings, panel board schedules, etc.
- Check and verify design drawings for compliance to applicable specifications.
- Review interdisciplinary documentation (i.e. Mechanical P&IDs) to determine/validate electrical interface requirements.
- Review supplier drawings and design documents and successfully translate these to the appropriate design deliverables.
- Use company and project standards to independently identify and develop wiring design documentation for electrical power, control, and instrumentation wiring.
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Post-secondary education Diploma, Certificate, or 2-year Degree from a recognized Engineering Technical Program in good academic standing or have equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Willing to travel domestic and/or internationally for a couple of weeks, at a time, to support client meetings and temporary assignments as needed
- Candidate must meet the criteria for access to the company's, partners' and clients' technologies
- Proficient in the use of Microstation and/or AutoCAD Electrical 2020 or equivalent
- A thorough knowledge of drafting principles and standards to enable checking and verification of design drawings for compliance to applicable specifications.
- Basic knowledge in the creation of technical documents, such as the development of schematics, combined wiring diagrams, termination drawings, panel board schedules, etc.
- Basic knowledge of electrical power, control and instrumentation design; ability to review interdisciplinary documentation (i.e. Mechanical P&IDs) to determine/validate electrical interface requirements
- Capable of reviewing supplier drawings and design documents to be able to successfully translate these to the appropriate design deliverables.
- Basic knowledge in the creation engineering design packages and the generation and/or review of Wire and Cable schedules
Nice-to-Have:
- Basic knowledge of PLC and relay logic control design
- Basic knowledge of single line, 3 line and relay protection and control diagrams
- Basic knowledge of National Electric Code
