About the role:

As an Energy Storage Mechanical intern, you will work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of mechanical engineering. You will contribute to the development of technical products and systems. This internship will provide you with valuable insights into the industry and help you develop your engineering skills.

You will report to the BOP Mechanical Engineering Manager and be located at our Rock Hill location. This is a paid, full-time, hybrid, summer position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, and analysis of mechanical systems and components
  • Prepare or update technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and calculation notes
  • Support ongoing projects develop engineering documentation and scopes of work for procurements and subcontracts
  • Participate in technical presentations and written communications for customers and management
  • Research new technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Project Schedule management
  • Solve technical engineering problems alongside our engineering team
  • Collaborate with the manufacturers or fabricators to ensure quality products to support our systems
  • Participate in design reviews and present technical designs and analysis results to team members
  • Support the department with necessary technical, lab testing, or clerical work

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD
  • Previous internship or project experience in mechanical engineering
  • Complete Sophomore year of college
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • No relocation assistance provided

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
