About the role:

As a Mechanical Engineering intern, you will part of the Operating Plants Mechanical Engineering team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems.

You will report to the Operating Plants Mechanical Systems Senior Manager and be at our Rock Hill location. This is a paid full-time hybrid summer position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with a team of engineers in mechanical systems design and analysis using different engineering applications
  • Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design and evaluation of systems
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Help resolve technical issues for operating and new (i.e., AP1000) nuclear power plants
  • Support engineers in the development of calculations and reports to document design and analysis results
  • Learn new engineering topics through participation in technical seminars
  • Work with engineers within and outside of the United States

Qualifications:

  • Pursue a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Complete Sophomore year of college
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • No relocation assistance provided

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $18.70 to $27.50 per hour.
