About the role:
As a Civil Engineer I you will work for technical activities at multiple projects related to Nuclear Industry, in a global environment and in compliance with the Westinghouse procedures. This is a full-time job.
You will report to the Facilities and Infrastructure Design Manager and be located at our HQ in Madrid. This is a hybrid position.
Main Responsibilities:
- The range of technical competencies would include:
- Civil - Structural engineering with emphasis in reinforced concrete, structural steel, infrastructures, building structures and architectural components.
- Design, occasional use of 2D CAD software, manipulation of 3D design software and BIM methodology.
- Perform a variety of engineering work as Individual Contributor. Assume technical engineering responsibility and engineering tasks under the review and verification of others. Perform analyses and design activities about the technical competencies.
- Resolutions of technical issues are typically not complex. They involve collection, manipulation, and interpretation of engineering data. Additionally, they require the application of industry standards, regulations, and project design basis. Furthermore, they demand understanding and collaboration in the development of structural concepts, details, technical specifications, technical reports, calculations, and sizing analysis.
- Origination and verification of drawings, provide instructions to drafting activities, preparation of work deliverables such engineering change control documents, engineering reports and calculation notes.
- Perform work in conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards and company procedures.
- Ensure work delivered is within the defined scope and completed to time and budget. Address commercial impacts.
- Produce documentation that is technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted and presented.
- Collaborate globally within the Westinghouse Engineering framework with a variety of more experienced engineers, designers and international environment in which the communications require to be direct, accurate and clear.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, enabled to be member of the applicable professional association (Capacitado para ser Colegiado en la rama de ingeniería correspondente).
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in Civil or Mechanical-Structural Engineering roles. We also value experience in energy, oil and gas, civil construction, or similar industries.
- Familiarity with engineering codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks, including:
- Structural Eurocodes.
- European standards (UNE EN ISO) related to structural materials and components.
- Work with technical standards and regulations nuclear-related such as ACI, AISC, ASME, NRC, and CSN guidelines.
- Desirable Software skills: CAD software, Structural analysis software, FEA software...
- Spanish and English. Valuable additional languages (French, German, Italian...).
