About the role:

As a Decommissioning Mechanical Design Engineer you will support decommissioning projects in all aspects, mainly in mechanical design for cutting and handling tools.

You will report to the Decommissioning Planning Manager and be located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes. The role is hybrid with the possibility to combine work from home and in the office.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support in the design process for cutting and handling tools during the design of decommissioning and dismantling activities for complete nuclear plants and facilities.
  • Support in the definition of remote control tooling during the design of decommissioning and dismantling activities for complete nuclear plants and facilities.
  • Licensing and planning support during decommissioning and dismantling activities for complete nuclear plants and facilities.
  • Understand the radiological characterization, segmentation techniques, in-plant materials lifting, handling, sorting and packaging according to the nuclear requirements.
  • Work with designing and planning of dismantling processes, specifying equipment, writing technical and licensing documentation, estimating costs and durations, and, in field, supervising execution activities.
  • Support mainly Spain projects and the possibility to support international projects (Japan, Korea and USA).

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Recent graduate or experience in similar role (Nuclear facilities decommissioning processes, tool's design, robotics, mechatronics)
  • English proficiency
