About the role:
As a Hardware Development Engineer you will form part of the nuclear product team for inspection systems, supporting new development needs for automated inspection systems using non-destructive testing (NDT) for nuclear and aeronautical applications.
You will report to the Fellow Engineer, Inspection Nuclear Product, and be located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Specification, design, tuning, and validation of data acquisition instruments for inspection systems and their potential prototypes, and for the maintenance and evolution of existing ones
- Collaboration in diverse teams with specialists in mechanics, automation, software developers, systems engineers, and NDT engineers to ensure the quality and performance of the developed products
- Produce documentation of the activities carried out following existing procedures
- Perform testing and diagnostics at nuclear plants and other client facilities
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Industrial Engineering, or other equivalent qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a hardware development engineer
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Ability to travel to internationally
- Knowledge in the following areas:
- Electronic components, circuits, and systems
- Design and simulate both analog and digital circuits
- Microcontroller programming
- PCB design, including schematic capture and layout design
- CAD tools such as Altium, OrCAD, Rhino, and simulation software
- FPGAs and VHDL programming
- Test and debug hardware using lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, etc.)
- Assembling miniature SMD electronic components
- Signal processing and related algorithms
- Software development in high-level languages: C, C++, C#, Python
- Non-destructive testing (NDT)
