Welcome to the future of nuclear energy, where Westinghouse Electric Company is leading the field with expertise and innovation to shape the power of tomorrow.

At Westinghouse, innovation is in our DNA. We are creative. We think differently. We reimagine the possible across the nuclear industry every day.

About the role:

As a Risk Manager for the OPX EMEA Team, you will provide support across Engineering and Services projects and portfolios. This support includes portfolio and project-level risk management to help ensure that we identify, assess, govern, and communicate commercial, execution, financial, technical, and strategic risks throughout the project lifecycle. The project lifecycle spans from bid and contract award through delivery, commissioning, and closeout. This is a full-time job.

You will report to the Portfolio Risk Manager and be located at our HQ in San Sebastián de los Reyes. We will consider someone from the EMEA region. This is a hybrid position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a consolidated view of top risks across the OPX Business Portfolio of Projects. This portfolio includes projects in Engineering Services, Outage & Maintenance Services, Instrumentation & Control, and Parts. The top risks encompass multiple aspects, such as design, procurement, field execution, commissioning, and warranty/service obligations.
  • Identify systemic risk patterns, trends, and new exposures affecting portfolio delivery, cost/schedule performance, quality, and safety.
  • Support risk assessments for engineering and services offers following global Offer Risk Approval processes.
  • Ensure that commercial, contractual, and technical risks are identified and reduced before approval. These technical risks include scope, interfaces, and design.
  • Support partner agreement and endorsement through structured risk reviews with Engineering, Project Management, Services/Field Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Trade & Compliance and Finance.
  • Contribute independent input on risk exposure, contingencies, and risk transfer before contract approval, including lifecycle obligations (warranty, spares, and service levels), and support clarity on accountability and mitigation commitments.
  • Support governance processes and contract handover, engineering kickoff, healthy start, and monthly project/services reviews.
  • Support the quality and consistency of project risk registers during execution using approved tools and risk breakdown structures in consideration of engineering work packages and site/field activities.
  • Monitor mitigation ownership and effectiveness, escalating where you do not meet governance standards (including EHS, quality, and subcontractor controls).
  • Tack portfolio risk exposure, mitigation progress, residual risk, and impacts to cost/schedule, claims, and service performance.
  • Support integrated portfolio-level risk reviews and contribute lessons learned back into engineering and services plans.
  • Support assessment of portfolio risk maturity, identify gaps, and partner with Portfolio Directors to define improvement plans.
  • Promote application of corporate risk policies, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in portfolio and project risk management support roles in engineering, energy, nuclear, or similarly.
  • Facilitation skills with the ability to support technical and commercial discussions.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies and enterprise risk tools (e.g., ARM).
  • Understanding of Offer development processes, offer governance requirements, and commercial risk evaluation.
