SRO Training Instructor (Madrid)

Responsabilities:

Obtain and maintain assigned AP1000/ SRO Instructor Qualifications:

• Qualify as Classroom Instructor.
• Attend AP1000/PWR training classes.
• Self Study AP1000/PWR materials.
• Complete assigned qualification cards.
• Successfully pass AP1000/PWR systems and procedures examinations.
• Successfully pass AP1000 simulator examinations.

• Qualify as an AP1000:

  •   Instructional Material Developer

  •   SRO Classroom Instructor

  •   Simulator Booth Operator

  •   Simulator Floor Instructor

  •   Simulator SRO Instructor

Develop, modify and review lesson plans to ensure information is accurate and up to date.

• Maintain these qualifications by attending continuing training and successfully passing requalification examinations.
• This initial training and qualification process typically takes approximately 18 months and during the qualification process the percent of time will be 90% to 100%.
• Gather pertinent information necessary for the development/revision of new and existing AP1000/ Operations and/or Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) training materials.
• Develop/modify various styles of written evaluation, items ensuring they meet industry standards and best practices, to evaluate trainee understanding of the presented training materials.
• Develop/modify Skill/Practical evaluation Items, ensuring they meet industry standards and best practices, to evaluate trainee proficiency with the presented training materials.
• Develop/modify lesson plans and student training materials utilizing adult learning theory/techniques to ensure effective training.
• Incorporate creative learning techniques and industry best practices  and industry best practices into training material that promotes trainee involvement (such as role-play, case study, and instructional games).
• Develop/maintain knowledge of nuclear plant operations, disciplinary skills and techniques commensurate with assigned responsibilities, to provide effective, high quality training.
• Maintain training materials in the VISION database/Learning Management System (LMS).

Perform Instructional Duties as assigned under the supervision of a qualified instructor until qualified to perform the task independently)

• Prepare to teach.
• Teach in the classroom/simulator/laboratory.
• Administer examinations.
• Sequester students.
• Coordinate production/distribution of pertinent training materials.
• Drive personnel performance improvement through the use of training.

Experience of successful candidate:

• High School Diploma

• 3 years Navy Nuclear Operator OR

  3 years Commercial Reactor Operations OR

  3 years Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer  OR

  Instrumentation and Control Technician with at least 3 years commercial or civilian nuclear experience OR

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent* in Nuclear Engineering and two years of experience working with nuclear reactor technology and operating mechanisms. Will accept a Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering and one year of related experience
