Senior Structural Analyst Engineer

About the role:

As a Structural Analyst Engineer you will be a member of the Component Structural Analysis group managing advanced technical evaluations and analyses carried out on major nuclear safety class components and piping and providing many services within structural mechanics (design activities, factory/workshop follow-up, and support to nuclear power plant modifications or refueling outage) in many projects, including primary pressure boundary of Westinghouse designed nuclear power plants including current operating fleet (AP1000 and AP300), long-term operation support, seismic qualification, major component replacement, and plant modifications.

You will report to the Manager, Component Structural Analysis, and be located at the Madrid headquarters in San Sebastián de los Reyes with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering evaluations and analyses of technical products and services within the structural mechanic's field
• Perform hand calculations and finite element analysis calculations in ANSYS to verify the qualification of nuclear power plant components to the appropriate standards
• Perform and document analyses in English
  • Complex stress analyses
  • Fracture Mechanics
  • Fatigue Analyses
• Propose integrated solutions to technical challenges that may arise during projects
• Participate in international project teams and communicate with relevant parties
• Lead a technical team to project completion while meeting safety, quality, schedule and budget
• Work with project managers and subsystem component leads to develop project schedules
• Provide technical guidance, direction, and collaborate with junior engineers within project team
• Potential travel to provide engineering support directly to our teams performing activities in the nuclear power plants
• Based on the experience acquired and the performance obtained, you may progress towards the path of technical expertise, project management or management

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Mechanical engineering
• 8+ years of experience in technical engineering
• Knowledge of nuclear industry and mechanical component stress analysis, fatigue and fracture mechanics assessments, finite element analysis software for structural analysis
• Experience with ASME Section III and Section XI, FEA, ANSYS APDL and Workbench
• Fluent in English and Spanish
