Job Opening: Engineer – Support & Snubber Systems Area (Westinghouse)
We are looking for an engineer to join the Testing Services team within Westinghouse Operating Plant Services.
Testing Engineers will develop both technical and project management skills, performing and leading testing and maintenance activities at our Madrid Headquarters as well as onsite at client facilities. Current projects include Nuclear Power Plants in Spain and abroad (Belgium, Slovenia, Mexico, South Africa, among others), as well as other power generation plants and industrial facilities.
The Testing Services organization covers a wide range of technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation fields, related to testing and maintenance of plant components and systems. The scope also includes test equipment development, maintenance, and calibration.
Current openings are oriented toward the Snubbers Services Organization, including:
- Visual inspection of snubbers and supports
- Functional tests of snubbers and springs
- Snubber maintenance
New recruits will be assigned tasks according to their education, skills, prior experience, and interests. Personnel will receive specific technical and project‑management training and qualification, adapted to their current knowledge and expertise.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise maintenance, inspection, and testing activities both at client facilities and at headquarters.
- Develop and write reports, procedures, quality documentation, maintenance manuals, and other technical documents.
- Analyze test results, perform calculations, and propose improvement actions.
- Prepare technical tenders.
- Attend internal and external audits.
- Manage testing equipment: maintenance, calibration, inspections, and improvements; development of new tools; R&D tasks.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement: technology monitoring, self‑training, and training of junior staff.
- Over time, and depending on previous experience, assume project management responsibilities: personnel coordination, definition of deadlines and priorities, customer communication, and leadership of activities both onsite and at headquarters.
Job Requirements
- Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical preferred; Electronics, Instrumentation, or related fields also considered).
- Availability to travel to client facilities for outage projects (national and international).
- Spanish & English: Fluent level (minimum B2).
- Strong technical interest, multitasking ability, flexibility, understanding of project priorities, and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in industrial or nuclear environments is valued but not required.
