About the role:
As a Testing intern you will provide support to personnel within the organization in carrying out work in the Inspection and Testing Program department. This is a 25 hours per week paid internship, with a total duration of 6 months, starting in September.
You will report to the Inspection and Life Management Engineering Lead and be located at our HQ in Madrid. This is a hybrid position. You will be eligible to receive course credit.
Main Responsibilities:
- Structural integrity assessments of components using finite element analysis (FEA).
- Apply regulatory codes and standards to develop inspection programs.
- Analyze operating experience for its application in nuclear power plants.
- Failure analysis of components to identify the degradation mechanisms that led to the failure.
- Use predictive tools to assess wear caused by flow-accelerated corrosion (FAC) in piping systems.
- Prepare documentation for software applications.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Physics.
- We value C1; a minimum English level is B2.
- Knowledge of materials science, structural analysis, finite element codes, or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java, and experience with AutoCAD.
