As a Assistant Plant Manager you will assist the Plant Manager in the day-to-day operations, compliance and improvement of the Residues Services areas and associated facilities.
You will report to the Plant Manager – Residues Services and be located at Springfields Fuel Site. This is an onsite role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputising for the Plant Manager where required.
- Plan and execute daily plant operations following SIOP.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety case requirements including the preparation and maintenance of safety case documents.
- Improve all aspects of plant and personnel safety.
- Define, measure, and improve Key Performance Indicators (SQCPD).
- Process mapping for identification and delivery plant improvements.
- Providing advice and guidance on technical aspects of plant operations including technical and operational problem solving.
- Monitor and improve Cost of Poor Quality, Yield and Right First-Time metrics.
- Liaison with external customer representatives and other stakeholders (internal and external).
- Develop and coach plant personnel.
- Monitor and improve cost per unit.
Qualifications:
- Typically Engineering Degree (minimum 2:2) qualified or equivalent experience in relevant discipline. We may consider suitable, relevant work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- 3 Years' experience in production operations environment
- Ideally, the company considers candidates with knowledge and experience in operations management and planning, but it will consider other candidates.
- A background of working within the chemical industry and awareness of the hazards, other, similar industries would be considered.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Safety Regulations, Safety Cases for nuclear facilities and COMAH.
- Lean Manufacturing (Including Process Mapping), high performance leadership and practical problem-solving skills would be an advantage.
