E&I Craftsperson

As an Electrical Services Craftsperson you will help maintain the Electrical Distribution System across the whole site; work will also include the maintenance of the site street lighting and the requirement for cable sounding to support the site’s excavation process.
The individual must be committed to personal safety and to the safety of the team. You are enthusiastic, flexible and conscientious and able to work on their own and within a small team. Due to the nature of the work, you will be asked to be prepared to undertake flexible working outside their normal working hours.
You will report to the Utilities Area Electrical Engineer and be located at Springfields Fuel Site.
Key Responsibilities:

You are required to have a working knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations:
-
Provide Electrical skills to support the site facilities and assets.
-
Operate and maintain the site’s 11KV electrical distribution system.

Operate and maintain the site’s 415V electrical distribution system through to each operational plant.

Maintain the site street lighting system.
-
Manage cable sounding and Electrical Banksman duties to support the site’s excavation process.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of the plant through 5S.
Qualifications:
-
Recognised craft engineering apprenticeship for Electrical / E&I craft status.

Knowledge of good maintenance systems and methods in the respective core trade.

An understanding of Electrical Systems, associated hazards and basic safety requirements.

Ability to deliver work to high quality and prescribed timescales.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
-
A good overall working knowledge of the buildings and processes on the Springfields site.

Knowledge of the site’s Electrical Distribution System and the site layout.

The applicant can work in a controlled area (radiation and contamination).

Follow the requisite training you will be expected to progress with Electrical Authorisation through to CAT A status which may take up to a period of three to five years to obtain.

The CAT A role is an Operational Specialist role.
