If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer, in Preston, Lancashire, UK (Hybrid work arrangement of 2 to 3 days per week on-site). No relocation assistance available.

 

Your Day-to-Day:

 

  • Production of EC&I drawings: Block Cable Diagrams, Single Line Diagrams etc.
  • Production of cable calculations by hand or in Amtech and lighting calculations in Dialux/Relux.
  • Production of technical documents such as Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, Method Statements etc.
  • Participation in design meetings and technical reviews and presentation of technical solutions.
  • Undertake Plant / Site Surveys

 

Who You Are:


As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

  • Must already be legally eligible to work in the UK (sponsoring program is not available)
  • Engineering degree in Electrical discipline preferred
  • 0 to 2 years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
  • Chartered Engineer/incorporated or working towards and engaged on a programme of Continual Professional Development.
  • Working knowledge of standards, regulations, codes and directives and how they should be applied
  • An appreciation and understanding of the Construction & Design Management Regulations.
  • Awareness of nuclear industry specific engineering practices regarding cable segregation, safety mechanisms, radiation/contamination, protective markings, etc.

  • An attention to detail and a high standard of verbal and written skills
  • Communication and cooperation with the team and sub-contractors.
  • A natural aptitude for undertaking engineering calculations, analysis and problem solving.
  • An ability to find and propose solutions to internal / external clients
  • Will acknowledge financial and time-based constraints and endeavour to work within clearly defined and agreed limits.
  • Will be expected to take responsibility for their own work and demonstrate a professional approach to the production of technical documentation.
