Westinghouse Springfields is a key UK nuclear fuel manufacturing site, supported by a broad capability in waste and residue treatment. As a recognised national asset, we continue to invest in the future of both fuel production and waste management.

The Safety Services Team member plays a critical role in implementing and supporting the use of laundry, coveralls and PPE across the site. You will ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and internal safety procedures.

You will report to SST Supervisor and based onsite at Springfields Fuels Site.

Responsibilities:

  • To work in a contact area processing laundry & PPE.

  • Process laundry through automated machinery.

  • Ensure compliance with instructions and procedures.

  • Help implement site waste arisings from the building for correct waste route.

  • Perform PPE breakdown, wash/clean procedures. build-up, inspection and testing.

  • Document PPE database records.

  • Work as part of a team or lone working .

Qualifications and Experience:

  • This role requires the ability to obtain security clearance. This includes identity verification, employment history, financial and criminal record checks, and proof of continuous UK residency for the past five years.

  • Basic working knowledge of mathematics.

  • Previous experience using automated machinery.

  • Demonstrates a consistent commitment to safety.

  • Communicates clearly and works effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
