As a Mechanical Craft Person you will deploy mechanical craft skills in the delivery of essential scheduled compliance and routine maintenance along with breakdown maintenance is support of plant operations.

You will report to the Engineering Team Leader and be located at Springfields Fuels site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure safe working practices are adhered to and any unsafe behaviours displayed within the team are challenged

  • Attendance/active participation at daily tool box/safety talks

  • Use seconds out for safety and human performance tools for every job

  • Ensure all Permit To Work documents meet the required standard before signing on to them

  • Ensure all craft work performed is following the required standards

  • Ensure all accidents, near misses and safety improvements are reported the day they occur

  • Take pride in the tidiness of your work area, workshops and storage locations

  • Complete scheduled and breakdown work efficiently, highlighting any delays, and inefficiencies to the maintenance supervisor

  • Highlight any inaccuracies in maintenance instructions and risk assessments

  • Ensure the status of plant and equipment is communicated to the team coordinator and supervisor at the end of each day

  • Report the use of plant spares to the team coordinator to allow re-ordering

  • Active participation in the work management systems and processes

  • Participation in Human Performance Event Investigations

  • Attend the annual Safety Workshop, participation in safety improvement activities

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Engineering qualification(s) ONC/L3 Maintenance Craftperson or equivalent experience

  • Recognised, time served mechanical/fitter apprenticeship

  • Working knowledge of safe systems of work

  • Working knowledge of hazardous content and pressure systems

  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement

  • Use computers and software packages for maintenance

  • Ability to identify issues and decide on required actions

  • Integrity to report human error promptly and escalate accordingly
