As a Plant Controller you will be situated in the Uranium Recovery Business Unit, within the Wash Plants Facilities. These cover the Enriched Decontamination Facility (A26), the Cylinder Wash Facility (A685) and the Nitric Acid Wash Facility within EURRP (A633).

 

The role will have direct reports and will be on the A06 (ABC) 12.5 non-continuous shift pattern.

 

This shift pattern attracts an annual shift allowance

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full range of Plant controller duties within the relevant operational areas, including Authorised Duly Appointed Person and Work Safety Control Plan Coordinator.

  • Ensure operations are conducted in line with the plant safety case and Nuclear Site License.

  • Ensure all safety rules and procedures are applied and improve safety standards.

  • Manage and supervise plant operations and direct the allocation of work.

  • Develop, maintain and improve the Performance Centre and KPIs, lead daily reviews and take appropriate action to close variances to target.

  • Manage in shift performance against targets actioning appropriate escalation and problem solving where required to ensure delivery and quality in line with customer requirements.

  • Set, maintain standards including the use of process confirmation, standard work observations, short interval follow-up and the PMA process.

  • Support and deliver plant improvements to maximise plant efficiency.

  • Develop and coach shift teams to improve performance and identify candidates for progression.

  • Support Plant Management in maintaining and improving compliance to business systems and processes.

  • Communicate with other supervisors/departments.

  • Use HUP tools / techniques and CAP.

  • Update plant documentation.

  • Attend the SFL Supervisor Development Training.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of the SFL Supervisor Training would be preferred.

  • High standards and expectations in their approach to work.

  • Enthusiastic and Flexible approach to work.

  • Provide evidence of being self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Attention to detail.

  • Evidence of being a team player but also able to work without direct supervision.

  • Able to work in a controlled manner and under pressure.

  • Ability to use IT Systems effectively.

  • Able to build good relationships with all stakeholders (customers etc.).

  • Demonstrated background in the supervision of employees.

  • Experience in meeting demanding targets and deadlines.

  • Will work in a controlled area.
