The Manager, Global Tax – EMEA, will principally assist the Director – EMEA  with tax advisory and reporting matters, and also work closely with the Director, Global Tax – International & Planning (based in the United States). Responsibilities will include assessing corporate, VAT, withholding and transfer pricing tax impacts of cross border transactions, implementing the Transfer pricing policy of the group, tax planning and research, rationalization programs and assisting with the global income tax provision and compliance related matters. The Candidate will have significant opportunity to increase responsibilities and take on new challenges in both US and non-US geographies.

 

More specifically, the Manager, Global Tax – EMEA will be responsible for assisting with the following key activities:

 

  • Manage and co-ordinate tax review of cross border offers and business support in general.
  • Interfacing with and responding to business unit and other function personnel as tax-related cross border questions arise, including intercompany transfer pricing, contract review, Permanent Establishment (PE) risk control, and global deployment tax matters.
  • Participate in international tax planning and structuring initiatives, including the evaluation of tax treaties, planning related to offshore investment activities, coordination of non-US tax laws, reviewing significant non-routine transactions, and ensure planning is coordinated and optimized on a global basis.
  • Support the integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings.
  • Perform technical research and prepare written technical correspondence or memoranda to support the income tax provision and tax planning initiatives of the company.
  • Support the preparation of the quarterly and year-end income tax provision and related documentation.
  • Support in the preparation and review of corporate income tax filings across approximately 10 countries throughout EMEA.
  • Manage tax audits and enquiries and defend tax filing positions related to cross border matters and tax positions.
  • Keep up to date with EMEA business and economic issues and tax law developments.
  • Assist with implementing best practices, processes and technology improvements in a public company environment.   

 

Experience:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience. A combination of public accounting and large multinational experience a considerable plus.
  • ACA/ CTA or equivalent qualifications

 

Skills & Competencies:

  • Broad knowledge of international tax laws and treaties.
  • VAT experience a plus.
  • Experience with a large multinational group.
  • Experience with transfer pricing concepts and documentation requirements a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across international regions and cultures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate with Global Tax Directors and Global VP of Tax.
  • Works independently in a fast paced collaborative environment, efficiently works within deadlines, and is a positive role model and mentor for tax staff.
  • Knowledgeable on accounting for income taxes and accounting in general.
  • Possesses strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptive, flexible, and able to function effectively in a highly complex global environment with a proven ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and strong skills in Excel. Experience with SAP and OneSource Tax Compliance a plus.
