Position Title: IT Support Engineer
Location: Seoul, South Korea
Reporting To: Asia IT Manager
Position Summary
The IT Support Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Westinghouse Seoul office. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support to Westinghouse Korea employees, contractors, partners, and customers operating in South Korea. The role ensures timely resolution of IT issues, manages IT assets and expenses, and coordinates with external suppliers. The engineer will adhere to global IT standards and policies set by GIS&T and ensure their effective implementation within the Korea operations.
Key Responsibilities
Site Coverage
• Provide IT support for Westinghouse Korea locations, including:
- Seoul Office
- Busan Office (Shin Kori 3&4 site office)
Technical Support & Operations
• Deliver daily IT operations and systems support across all South Korea sites.
• Respond to and manage incidents and service requests using ITSM tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in-person, remotely, and via approved communication platforms.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.
• Procure and deploy approved hardware/software; assist users with ITSM requests.
• Configure and deploy new or replacement devices (servers, network equipment, PCs, laptops, printers, mobile and fixed telephony).
• Conduct regular hardware/software functionality checks.
• Maintain accurate IT asset inventory in CMDB in accordance with company policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
• Support system deployments and provide user training on IT applications.
• Manage disposal and replacement of obsolete hardware/software in compliance with company guidelines.
Standards & Compliance
• Stay current with global IT standards, guidelines, and inventory lists.
• Provide feedback on technology initiatives to the Asia IT Manager.
• Ensure data protection and compliance with Westinghouse security policies.
• Monitor and manage IT expenditures within budget.
• Perform duties in alignment with safety, security, and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with business unit stakeholders to deliver tailored IT solutions.
• Coordinate with Corporate IT and external vendors to support project execution.
• Foster teamwork and effective communication across IT and business functions.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT operations and maintenance.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework; certification preferred.
• Microsoft and Cisco certifications are a plus.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and hands-on skills.
• High level of integrity, responsibility, and proactive problem-solving.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
Language Skills
• Fluent in both Korean and English (verbal and written).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
