Project Technical Lead

General Job Functions:
Asia Engineering Services (ES) is seeking a Project Technical Lead based in China. This position is an individual contributor technical support role and will report into the Westinghouse ASIA ES Product Line. The Project Technical Lead will be responsible to ensure that ES projects are executed correctly, meeting all technical requirements and scope as per their contract commitments. This role is expected to work closely with ES project managers and GES Engineering leads providing technical support for project execution. The Technical Lead will be engaged in offer development to ensure a deep understanding of technical commitments and engineering deliverables, and during project execution to ensure the team remains on task and target, assisting the Project Manager by focusing on the technical execution allowing the PM to focus on overall project execution. The Technical Lead will focus and prioritize their time across ongoing and upcoming opportunities across Westinghouse Asia ES.
Duties and Responsibilities (in the order of priority):
- Work closely with CSM/RST to make sure WEC offered solutions meet customer requirements
- Work with PM to make sure WEC deliverables meet contractual commitments
- Technical clarification of scope on behalf of the project to internal team and/or customers
- Support Project manager to interpret the contract technical scope
- Lead discussions with GES and reach agreement on technical solutions
- Lead discussion with customer and reach agreement on technical disputes
- Engineering deliverables review to make sure no IP released Lead technical meetings with the customers. Leading technical issue resolution if any during project execution
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering
Years of Experience: At least 10 years of related experience in the Nuclear Industry in engineering or product management, with exposure to marketing principles and processes.
Skills and Competencies:
Speak fluent Chinese and English
Comfortable and able to provide project leadership to multi-disciplined engineering teams across a broad spectrum of technical areas.
Familiarity with the nuclear power plant designs for operating PWR and/or advanced reactors or AP1000 is a plus
Experience with plant NSSS systems including fluid flow, hydraulic resistance and heat transfer, etc.
Experience with piping networks, engineering design, and analysis for mega-projects or advanced reactors.
Understand pump, valve, heat exchanger, HVAC, or other equipment for plant design or modifications.
Familiar with ASME III/RCCM nuclear Code/local Chinese standards to the design and analysis of reactor mechanical components including reactor vessel, internals, steam generator/tube integrity assessment and primary system supports.
Familiar with analytical calculations and evaluations using a variety of engineering tools and methods. Develop documentation related to these calculations and analyses.
Development of design documentation for safety and non-safety related hardware; this includes manufacturing drawings, functional and design specifications, as well as qualification reports.
Willing to travel to meet with customer, GES, NNSA to provide on-site support, deliver presentations, and aid in issue resolution
