About the role:
As a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor, you will lead a group designing advanced systems for nuclear fuel movement and plant cranes. You will combine technical leadership, team development, and change management to help modernize processes and grow talent in a rapidly evolving organization.
You will report to the Fuel Handling Engineering Manager and be located at Shoreview, MN. This is a hybrid role in the Minneapolis region-based or willing to relocate; in-office presence expected 3+ days per week. 4 or 5 if needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of 11+ mechanical engineers and designers, located in Shoreview and other Westinghouse sites.
- Manage Performance Feedback Plans (PFPs) and conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to support career development and engagement.
- Encourage skill development, technical leadership, and engineering licensing (FE, PE).
- Support promotions within the team.
- Lead hiring and onboarding for new team members.
- Deliver training programs for technical and process improvement.
- Collaboration with other department (both engineering and manufacturing) leadership and technical leads
- Be the Design Review Chair for mechanical design deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance on machine design, including weldments, machined parts, and integration with industrial I&C systems.
- Manage project resourcing and ensure understanding of schedule commitments.
- Support schedule conflict escalations from Project Managers and ensure delivery of engineering outputs.
- Be a change management champion, introducing modern tools, workflows, and best practices.
- Foster collaboration between engineering disciplines and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure adherence to nuclear quality standards and safety requirements
- Limited North American travel required for collaboration with team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Professional Engineer license preferred
- Mechanical machine design background (required).
- Team leadership experience (required).
- Nuclear industry experience (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Experience with mechanical design principles and tools (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, ANSYS).
- Lead change and foster collaboration.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $116,800 to $146,000 per year.
