About the role:

As a Quality Control Apprentice, you will identify deviations that could create quality/safety/environmental hazards or cause malfunctions.

 

You will report to the QA/QC & EHS Component Manufacturing Manager and be located at Shoreview, MN. You will support this role 100% onsite.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as team member with cognizant personnel to identify corrective actions.
  • Perform inspection and testing activities.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and safe condition.
  • Understand, and demonstrate compliance with procedures, codes, specifications, regulations.
  • Understand drawings, original manufacturer product documentation, procedures, and other assembly and fabrication documents.
  • Perform basic dimensional inspection using standard inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, depth gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, etc.
  • Inspect fabrications and assemblies for completeness and cleanliness.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections of components, assemblies and weldments.
  • Work with manufacturing, engineering, quality and supply chain to resolve issues related to inspection of product.
  • Identify and document items that do not meet specifications.
  • Prepare and archive necessary documentation related to performance of inspections.
  • Pursue and implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Express all safety concerns promptly.
  • Perform other activities as directed by manager.
  • This role may include periodic support to manufacturing group for assembly, welding, and fabrication work.
  • This role may include periodic support to EHS group for different activities.
  • This role may include periodic support to engineering group for product design and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software products.
  • 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with blueprint reading.
  • Experience with industrial safety programs.
  • Demonstrated desire to pursue qualifications, certifications, and accreditation to grow in career.
  • Proficiency in communicating and delivering commitments.
  • Experience operating CNC machines.
  • Experience with welding processes.
  • Experience with electromechanical machine assemblies.
  • Experience with multiple EHS disciplines such as lifting and rigging, confined space, fall protection, powered industrial trucks, LOTO, electrical safety, stormwater, hazardous materials.
  • Experience with metal fabrication and assembly manufacturing process.
  • Experience with quality programs and inspection.
  • Improvement project work experience.
  • Enrollment or completion of accredited program certification and degree in related field.
  • Experience with EHS programs, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Knowledge of electrical/electronic assembly.
