About the role:
The AP Technology Deployment portfolio, part of GECS, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead engineering efforts related to the early stages of AP1000 plant deployment.
You have demonstrated experience in nuclear technology and an understanding of global regulations, codes, and standards applicable to licensing, design, and construction of new power plants.
Furthermore, you will have demonstrated understanding of different engineering disciplines engaged in AP technology deployment (e.g., licensing, civil, mechanical, and electrical design, construction, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:

Assigned project execution and working with functional group lead engineers to drive progress

Mentor engineers and lead them in the execution of a multi-discipline AP1000 project

Set daily operational goals for individuals or teams, ensuring that procedures are in place and followed in addition to oversight of cost and schedule adherence

Lead internal technical meetings or in presence of customers, such as corrective action meetings, operational experience & lessons learned, technical conferences.

Communication with functional group leads is important for successful execution and oversight of the multidiscipline engineering efforts

Use of scheduling and action items tracking as best practice communication tools is required

Communication and reporting on main project updates and technical issue resolutions with GECS and ESBU leadership team and upper management

Analyze bid or change notice specifications and requirements to develop project-specific deliverables and schedules for successful implementation and enhance customer satisfaction

Support development of governance documentation for scope, costs, and risk reviews for LOA approval at the GECS leadership level

Provide leadership and coordination during preparation of proposals through development of detailed technical specifications, scopes, and schedules for offers and collecting and critiquing cost and scope inputs from diverse GECS groups

Improve and recommend alterations to existing products, services, and contribute to development

Reports to the Project Engineering Manager of assigned projects
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

8+ years of experience in nuclear power plant design

Experience with global regulations, codes, and standards applicable to licensing, design, and construction of new power plants

Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and lead engineering teams

Proficiency in project management tools and techniques
