Infrastructure Product Line Manager - Ontario, Canada


Develop and implement strategy for assigned product area.  Work with customer facing organizations and integrate competitive and market intelligence to develop products with strong customer value propositions.  Develop and maintain a product roadmap and manage a portfolio of products and/or services for their entire lifecycle.  Provide rapid response and support to clients in resolving issues and improving process efficiencies.   Develop new opportunities for extending services in the business line and introducing new tools and service products to customers.  Develop business cases to justify investments to meet market needs while building and maintaining long term, strategic relationships with customers. Achieve financial performance by shaping product architecture and market strategy to secure quality OE and maximize profitability.


You Day to Day:

  • Lead technical proposal development team and oversee complex negotiations with customers to obtain contracts which contribute significant profit margin and revenue growth.  Effectively manage contract changes.
  • Analyze contract requirements and develop project-specific deliverables to enable and support successful program implementation and to enhance customer satisfaction. Analyze needs and develop unique customer solutions to address customer concerns.
  • Orchestrate and drive profitable product or service growth which meets or exceeds revenue and margin objectives.
  • Develop strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals.  
  • Foster attributes of customer service, human performance fundamentals, nuclear safety culture and practices.
  • Develop innovative solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations.  Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction.  
  • Develop and successfully implement product business plan – considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement objectives.
  • Maximize financial contributions to ensure product viability.  
  • Aggregate margin-as-delivered for portfolio of products should be greater than or equal to the product-specific objective from financial plan. Financial forecasting should provide accurate assessment of financial timing and results.
  • Contribution to the preparation, assembly, and pricing of engineering proposal/tender responses.
  • Support Account teams in Growth Planning, Key Opportunity Review and Deep Dives (including Capture plan development).
  • Serve the company and the client as the on-site technical liaison who is cognizant of both parties’ organizations to expedite responses to information and serve needs. 
  • Conduct or support  project kickoffs, outage challenge reviews and pre- and post-job briefs in both nuclear and non-nuclear.
  • Provide input to and/or deliver reports before, during and immediately upon completion of strategic company projects.  
  • Including in these reports are discussions on scope, schedule, budget, overall performance, and best practices based on lessons learned and operational experience (OPEX)
  • Provide leadership for the company technical leads to ensure continued improvement of project and professional performance. 
  • Develop valued Product/Project Management skills in organization to ensure “bench strength” and succession planning.
  • Has the capacity to manage both medium and large projects ensuring that all commitments are met and that the company and client policies and procedures are followed

Growth Leader:

  • Increase  market share in Infrastructure market  
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategy, including commercial approach, for growing the Infrastructure area of the business.   Accountable for profitability and growth.
  • Develop and implement plans / actions to enable Infrastructure segment to meet & exceed business plan commitments 
  • Develop understanding of products, services and general capabilities to match with Infrastructure customer needs.   
  • Leverage / develop key customer relationships to facilitate understanding of customer needs and ultimately create high value proposals with strong value proposition to meet customer needs; identify and execute ‘quick wins’ to spur growth including partnering with others.
  • Assist with Analyzing market to identify key market segments to improve penetration / share of customer wallet.   Includes competitor analysis.
  • Identify investment(s) needed to secure market share especially new products/service to meet customer needs
  • Develop relationships with internal stakeholders, including GOS, to ensure people, processes and technology are available to enable market growth  
  • Proactively identify risks & opportunities; lead development of discrete actions to mitigate
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with all internal team members


Who You Are: 

  • Education Level (Degree, Area of Study) – Minimum Requirement:    Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Years of Experience (if applicable):    8+ relevant experience in Engineering/ I&C and Sales with nuclear experience. 
  • Understanding of CANDU customers and CANDU plants
