Project Controls Specialist

Your Day to Day

Responsible to oversee and maintain project databases, systems (SAP, internal programs) and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project performance information between project team members including project managers and planners. Responsible to serve as a project controls subject matter expert for small/ medium type projects. May be assigned multiple projects simultaneously. May lead small teams which may include resources from schedule, cost and/or risk, through all phases of a project. Responsibilities may also include developing and maintaining risk registers and earned value management system. This individual is responsible to review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope. Promote teamwork and effective communication.

  • Project Planning Process specifically for assigned projects, complete all aspects of the project controls process which include but are not limited to, developing and maintaining baseline project schedule, baseline project cash flow/estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts, budget and/or EAC reporting associated with project scope through project lifecycle.
  • Project executing, monitoring, and controlling processes. Responsible for all aspects of project controls activities including scope, schedule, cost, risk, earned value assessment. Process, monitor, and track changes following an integrated change control process. Prepare project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including estimate at completion updates and earned value management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements.
  • Properly close the project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, inventory control, and resource management system/tools. Perform and communicate final project completion costs assessment. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons learned, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Develop positive relationships with team, customer, suppliers, Westinghouse in-country representation and other stakeholders to drive project to successful completion.
  • Support successful project execution and promote continuous improvement within the team.

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you’d bring the following to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management Engineering, Business, Accounting, Construction Management or related technical Discipline.
  • 3-6 years project control experience in the position of functional/technical area.
  • SAP experience is preferred
