Dimensional Inspector


You Day to Day:

  • Knowledge of and experience in application of the following for manufacturing custom designed components and equipment N299 series, ISO-9001, or similar.
  • Minimum of two years (2) experience with standard metrology equipment (e.g. verniers, dial indicators, gauge blocks)
  • Knowledge of CMM use
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in various software packages ( e.g. Microsoft word, Excel,)                                           Read and Interpret drawings 
  • Technical or manufacturing experience [knowledge of manufacturing procedures and processes for shop fabrication (e.g. machining, welding, assembly)]
  • Perform dimensional/visual inspection of manufactured parts and assemblies
  • Perform calibration on both company and employee owned tools. 
  • Perform other duties as required.


Who You Are:

  • High school diploma or GED, and post-secondary technical education
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar trade
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • The ability to produce objective reports
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work with little supervision: must be self-directed
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation
  • Comply with all Westinghouse Canada policies and procedures
  • Required to use PPE
  • Ability to pass Annual eye examination for, near distance visual acuity, colour differentiation
  • Possession of valid Driver’s License 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience in application of the following quality standards for manufacturing low volume, custom designed components and equipment:
      • CSA N299 series
      • CSA N285.0, B51
      • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III, VIII
      • ASME NQA-1
  • Experience with CMM and FARO Arm equipment
  • Knowledge of application of non-destructive examination (NDE) processes and various inspection equipment as applicable to high quality custom fabrications and pressure retaining equipment
  • Experience and/or background in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities are essential to be successful in our team-based environment.  You will possess problem solving skills and a creative yet methodical approach
