Your Day to Day:

  • To set up, adjust and operate most conventional machine tools to perform precision machining operations producing components/parts that meet the engineered drawings in the time allotted by the Manufacturing Process Instruction, while adhering to Risk Assessment requirements as they apply to each operation or machine.
  • Adhere to all Risk Assessment requirements for the equipment being used.

  • Consistently deliver acceptable parts in the time allowed.

  • Contribute to Tool Box talks and other communications.


What you b ring to be successful in the role:

  • Has recognized Certification of Trade as a Machinist or evidence of experience by demonstrating a knowledge of machining practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe handling of materials, machining practices, and the ability to recognize unsafe situations.
  • Read and understand drawings and other instructions.
  • Determine proper sequence of operations and machines to produce part.
  • Identify different materials.
  • Communicate with others (peers, Supervisors and subordinates).
  • Understand use of fixtures and jigs to aid part production
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
