Westinghouse Electric Canada is a supplier of custom equipment, process systems and spare parts for the Nuclear industry in Canada.  As a part of our growing team at the Peterborough location, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the growth of our Parts delivery team.

 

Typical Responsibilities include:

  • Review and approve customer technical and quality requirements for orders and RFQs
  • Update, review & approve technical & QA requirements for purchase requisitions for product specific parts
  • Review & approve supplier technical submittals (drawings, non-conformances, etc)
  • Identification of suppliers for materials & services as needed
  • Review & disposition of Quality Notifications generated at goods receipt
  • Generate Commercial Dedication instructions/plan
  • Define receipt inspection requirements
  • Analyze customer inputs (RFQ package, drawings, specifications etc) in order to assign technical and quality requirements to items or assemblies
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on our customers’ procurement clauses, and the interpretation and application of them
  • Assist with bids and proposals in terms of finding the most effective and efficient ways to meet customer technical and quality requirements
  • Liaise with engineering experts as necessary (Mechanical, I&C, Electrical)
  • Apply your electrical / mechanical knowledge to design, verify and validate parts solutions when OEM parts have become obsolete
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to determine advance part obsolescences
  • Perform obsolescence evaluation to identify recommended substitute that meets technical and QA requirements

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Licensed P.Eng. member of Professional Engineers Ontario
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or spare parts supply environment

Preferred:

  • Experience in conceptual design development, design reviews and engineering change control processes
  • Experience with relevant Quality Programs/Standards for Canadian Nuclear applications (e.g. N299, N285)
  • Application of the relevant codes and standards applicable to the design of nuclear components and systems including specialized tooling and remote handling equipment.
  • Experience interfacing with customer representatives and also providing oversight of vendors.
