In the Senior Quality Specialist role, this will support the Outage & Maintenance Services project scopes for project development, engineering reviews for Quality aspects, including related vendor activities. This is to ensure the Westinghouse requirements are maintained to meet the Westinghouse Quality and Safety Programs and the Customer requirements.
You Day to Day:
- Verifying that internal work scopes by Westinghouse Engineering, Product Lines, and Manufacturing organizations meet the Westinghouse Procedures, Codes and Standards, and Customer requirements.
- Reviewing and approving procedures, field change requests, drawings, Project Plans, Project Quality Plans, and other project and Quality-related documents.
- Performing internal assessments of the Westinghouse processes to ensure compliance.
- Supporting internal and external audits.
- Verifying that all work performed at Westinghouse locations and at Customer sites is according to design requirements, Codes and Standards, and project contract agreements.
- Performing and documenting Quality surveillance oversight of the Westinghouse work scopes for installation, modifications, repairs, assembly, construction, and testing.
- Performing assigned Witness/Hold/Review points as identified in Inspection and Test Plans or Quality plans as required.
- Ensuring that any deficiencies and nonconformances related to materials, workmanship, and processes are followed through and have acceptable disposition.
- Performing and/or oversee in-process welding, machining, NDT, and other inspection processes.
- Performing pre-shipment reviews and accepting the product at Westinghouse facilities.
- Initiating “Stop Work” when necessary to ensure compliance to procedures, processes, and Codes.
- Interfacing with customers and serving as the primary interface with regulatory authorities.
- Providing Quality Program Indoctrination to the Project Team along with the Project Manager.
- Maintain strict oversight into Shop Safety Program/Manual
- Manage Joint Health and Safety Committee
Who You Are:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Knowledge and practical experience working with nuclear QA codes and standards (e. g. N299, ASME Section III Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code).
- Minimum 2 years Inspection Experience in a Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Inspector
- Relevant experience in construction or fabrication quality assurance/project management (or equivalent) of large, complex engineering, procurement, and fabrication/construction projects preferred
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers, suppliers, regulators, and internal technical groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate technical requirements and regulatory compliance information.
- Preferred experience managing quality and safety management programs
