About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage nuclear sector projects in Slovakia and East Europe. You will work with diverse teams through the full project lifecycle: planning, execution, monitoring, and closure ensuring compliance with Slovak and EU nuclear safety regulations, quality standards, and budgetary requirements.
You will report to the D&WM Program Manager Eastern Countries and be located in Trnava, Slovakia.
Model of work: hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of nuclear energy or decommissioning projects.
- Coordinate project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
- Ensure project compliance with nuclear safety legislation, EU directives, and international safety standards (IAEA, WANO and other).
- Manage interfaces with company partners, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
- Conduct regular project reporting and progress reviews with executive leadership and external partners.
- Manage project risks, including technical, financial, environmental, and legal risks.
- Ensure adherence to QA/QC requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support licensing, permitting, and public engagement processes.
- Promote a safety-first culture aligned with international nuclear safety principles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Nuclear Physics, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management within the nuclear or energy sector.
- Experience with nuclear decommissioning projects, radioactive waste management, new build or plant modernization.
- Knowledge of Slovak and EU nuclear regulatory frameworks (ÚJD SR, EURATOM).
- Fluent Slovak and English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).Desirable:
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE 2®)
- Familiarity with ISO 21500, ISO 19443, and other nuclear project standards.
