Senior Engineer

If this sounds like an environment you would thrive in, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer located at our Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Support upgrade projects involving I&C and power activities.
• Implement rapid response plant modifications from the design phase through installation and startup.
• Perform engineering design and analysis and propose solutions to complex problems that are not well defined.
• Coordinate and direct the efforts of designers and craft personnel during implementation of projects.
• Create project schedules and budgets. Track progress and spending.
• Develop scopes of work and bid packages.
• Support and work closely with other plant groups including Operations, Maintenance, Work Management and Reliability Engineering.
• Participate in hazard and safety analysis reviews.

 

Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required
• 3-5 years of applicable experience required
 
Extensive knowledge of:
• NEC
• NFPA 70E
• IEEE 1584 preferred

Working knowledge: Power
• 3-phase power
• Load balancing
• Time current curves (TCC)
• Arc Flash
• Protective device coordination
• Motor and VFD power and control
• MCC/Switchgear/Load panel design
 
Working knowledge: I&C
• Allen Bradley – Rockwell PLC Software
• Siemens safety PLCs
• SIS design
o BPCS and SIS PLC controls
o Able to perform SIL verification and calculations for safety significant controls
• Rosemont transmitters
• Modbus/Profibus
• Specify equipment independently from vendors
• Experience with programmable logic solvers, relay logic, and instrumentation working in a plant environment
• Experience with manufacturing equipment machine design and automation in a manufacturing facility
• Experience implementing plant modifications.
• Experience should include design, equipment specification, process improvement, project engineering/management, equipment installation and startup.
• Demonstrated history of strong communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills required to achieve cooperation and reach agreement with project participants
