In the role of EMEA Logistics Category Manager in our organization, you will Managing all nuclear and non nuclear EMEA based logistics sourcing activities.

The focus is on providing the Nuclear Fuels Logistics sourcing activity to support WSE / SFO at Vasteras, managing two Global Logistics Category Lead employees based at SFL, UK who manage the Nuclear Fuels Logistics sourcing activity to support SFL and the Global Freight Forwarding and Small Package Sourcing activity respectively and all other non nuclear EMEA based logistics sourcing activity.

About the role:


  • Create and maintain the Global Logistics EMEA Sourcing process and metrics
  • Relationship Management of the key EMEA logistics suppliers
  • Provide direction, strategic guidance and support to the two Global Logistics Category Leads in the UK supporting the EMEA logistics activities
  • Manage the EMEA Logistics Sourcing activity workload, manage resource allocation and help resolve obstacles to progress
  • Provide sales Limit of Authority (LOA) input for Nuclear Logistics Scope – costs, supplier options, packaging options and load and logistics plans
  • Create the packaging and transport scope / language for Logistics Supplier Contracts in Sweden
  • Proactively manage Risk Assessment across the EMEA Logistics category and escalate as appropriate for risk mitigation.
  • Advise Category Leads relating to the Global Sourcing / Supplier Management aspects of the Nuclear Fuel Transport activities.
  • Advise Category Leads relating to creating Supplier Contracts / Agreements for Nuclear Fuel packaging and transport projects
  • Create and maintain supplier contracts between Westinghouse and nuclear transport suppliers
  • Create supplier Requests for Quotation and producing supporting nuclear fuel transport sourcing projects
  • Manage external supplier liaison and work to support the Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Transport teams at Westinghouse Sweden Electric (WSE) and Springfields Fuels Limited (SFL)
  • Manage cost, schedule and performance criteria
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills are required to manage internal stakeholders and external suppliers to provide timely and innovative solutions to meet the project and company needs.
  • Provide supplier selection recommendation, ensure completion of project risk assessments, and negotiate prices and service delivery, and terms and conditions for nuclear transport services.
  • Support various Managers by executing sourcing strategies to achieve business goals while driving continuous improvement with logistics suppliers
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams including the Nuclear Fuel Transport teams to maximize procurement and delivery effectiveness. 
  • Understand all the key operational & commercial elements of strategic and preferred suppliers to effectively communicate opportunities, challenges, and long-term plans and actions to internal stakeholders including project teams and Global Logistics leadership to support the nuclear fuel transport procurement strategy.
  • Maintain good working relationships with new and existing suppliers.  Assist with disputes, including schedule and quality issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance within assigned reporting area with all business standards, internal policies, and legal/regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and communicate key project milestone updates and risks for key stakeholders.

  • Innovation & Digitalization: Scout the market to identify new transport services that creates value to the end customer. 



  • Strong Negotiating, Benchmarking, Market Analysis, Competitive Intelligence, and Project Procurement Management skills
  • BA/BS in areas of Supply Chain, Business, or similar discipline or at least 3 years of procurement or European transport experience
  • Experience with vendor management including supplier contract administration
  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze and draw conclusions from quantitative data
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate and engage at all organizational levels, ability to cultivate and sustain high quality professional relationships
  • Ability to amicably and professionally resolve disputes with suppliers
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team environment
  • Must be creative and have strong problem-solving skills along with time-management, prioritizing, planning and self-direction skills
  • Ability to maintain long term productive relationship with suppliers (SRM)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage data and workflows in a database environment
