The Export Control Specialist - reporting to the Manager, Export Controls, Sweden, will help to ensure that Westinghouse Sweden is in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.  The Specialist will anticipate potential export compliance issues and support leadership with assessing export compliance risks and solutions in Sweden.  The Specialist must have extensive knowledge and/or experience with European Council Regulation 2021/821, and Swedish export control regulations, including those under the authority of SSM.


Your Day to Day:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures in Sweden, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Manage/generate export licenses/authorization with SSM, and other agencies, as required
  • Support the classification of products/ technology and applicable licensing requirements with the different business lines. 
  • Enforces export screening policies and executes screening processes across Westinghouse’s EMEA locations
  • Liaise, through oral and written communication, with internal stakeholders on various export control matters
  • Maintain accurate electronic records and perform other export compliance tasks, as assigned


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, International Trade, or related field; Advanced or Legal Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of import/export compliance experience     
  • Experience in the nuclear industry
  • Demonstrated experience and through understanding of complex import and export regulations
  • Strong technical knowledge of trade laws/regulations both in and outside of the US
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
