Mechanical Designer

 

Are you quality-conscious and ambitious mechanical designer who wants to work in a technology intensive environment with many different future opportunities? Then this position is for you.

 

Welcome to the Mechanical Design department! We are 25 employees in various technical special areas and are looking to expand our team with a mechanical designer.

In the role of mechanical designer in our team you will work both independent and in groups with responsibility for part or whole projects.

 

Your contribution for a carbon-free future  

As mechanical designer your main responsibilities are mechanical design around fuel assemblies and its components, both within development projects and order-bound design. Among other things, this includes tasks such as:

  • Production of manufacturing documentation (models, drawings, specifications, etc.)
  • Work with licensing projects where calculations and investigations are documented in technical reports
  • cooperate with other units within Westinghouse, as well as customers and subcontractors

You will work on site from Bränslegatan, Västerås with the possibility to work from home a few days per week.  

 

We are looking for you   

If you are a person who has a sense of quality and likes to collaborate with others in varied, highly technical design projects, we believe you will excel in this position. Curiosity, accuracy, responsibility, and structure are important qualities that we value for this role.

We also believe that you are curious to learn more about mechanical design within the nuclear fuel industry.

 

Qualifications   

  • Bachelor of science within mechanical engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience from the role as a designer
  • Knowledge of computer-aided design 3D CAD (we use CREO)
  • Knowledge of drafting drawings and tolerance dimensioning
  • Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and writing.

If you have previously worked or have experience from the nuclear industry that is meritorious.
