PWR Fuel Solution Engineer

Welcome to our EMEA PWR Fuel Business team. We are a team of Fuel Business and Fuel Solutions Managers working together with Commercial Integration and other company partners to provide solutions to our customer's needs and business growth.

 

The Fuel Solutions Engineer role is a role that combines the fuel techniques with the commercial operation. You will work on opportunities for different fuel customers, but the primary task is to provide technical support in the AP1000 fuel sales projects and other new-build related opportunities such as AP300 and other SMR solutions.

 

Your contribution for a carbon-free future

As PWR Fuel Solutions Engineer you will be a part of identified capture teams and manage the interface between our sales organization, customer representatives, product management and fuel engineering. You will provide technical sales support in the offer or pre-offer phase of the sales process. The work scope and direction will be agreed in cooperation with the accountable Fuel Solutions Manager. Your work tasks may include:

  • Strategically survey Voice of Customer and competitive landscape to understand market needs and prices
  • Assess and analyze the market for the specific offering.
  • Lead technical input, cost and risk estimates for commercial proposals supported by Global Operations Services (GOS). GOS is responsible for manufacturing and supply chain within Westinghouse.
  • Together with GOS and Legal, ensure Intellectual Property is protected as applicable (patents, trademarks, export control)

 

You will also occasionally support the contract management team in commercial matters, with customer issue resolution in need of escalation and in special instances to strengthen customer relationships and collect feedback.

You will be based at one of our Westinghouse locations in Europe close to our PWR fuel customers in EMEA, e.g.. Västerås Sweden, Paris in France, etc. with a hybrid work schedule. You will need the ability to work in the United States, United Kingdom and EMEA and to meet the export control requirements for those countries for work in the nuclear industry.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical discipline
  • PWR Fuel market and product technology knowledge
  • 5+ years of experience in fuel engineering or similar with increasingly progression and complexity.
  • Knowledge in commercial operations or technical sales.
  • Good understanding and interest of financials in general (Relationship of sales, margin and OE.)
  • Understanding of the inter-workings of the organization (procedures and processes)
  • Ability to absorb significant and complex information and distill it into key points for use in discussions, negotiations and strategic planning
  • Ability to travel, within EMEA and United States
  • Full professional proficiency in English
