Process Engineer

Welcome to Manufacturing Processes & Testing (BQP), which is part of the fuel factory quality and process department. We are responsible for the development and control of the factory's manufacturing processes, including welding processes, non-destructive testing and material testing. You will join a team of 40 employees in the roles of managers, engineers and technicians where the competence is broad in expertise such as materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, welding technology and measurement technology.
We are now looking for a process engineer with a focus on supporting our mechanical workshops, which include the manufacture of fuel rods, channels, grids and components. In the role of process engineer, you will work with both conventional and unique manufacturing processes where focus is on quality and material issues.
Your contribution for a carbon-free future
As a process engineer your main responsibility is to develop, follow-up and qualify our manufacturing processes. This includes:

Participate in several improvement and investment projects as a specialist in manufacturing processes

Daily support to the factory's manufacturing units

Convey prerequisites to production personnel and, if necessary, training the relevant personnel

Contact with customers, suppliers and other fuel factories

To account for our manufacturing processes to customers and authorities

To ensure that the quality in demand is always achieved
You will work onsite at the Fuel Factory in Västerås with the opportunity to work remotely a few days per week.
We are looking for you
To succeed in the role, you need to have a genuine interest in manufacturing processes. We believe that you are driven, communicative and structured about your work. You are motivated to search and absorb new information. You can also constructively review and evaluate manufacturing conditions and manufacturing data.
Qualifications

Post-secondary relevant education, e.g. in materials, mechanical engineering or production engineering

3+ years of experience from the manufacturing industry

Fluent in Swedish, both written and speaking

Good knowledge in English, both written and speaking
Meritorious
-
Knowledge in heat treatment, machining or welding
-
Experience in nuclear fuel production or activities
-
Experience in digitalization and AI applications
