Senior radiation protection engineer

Welcome to the Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Factory in Västerås and the Nuclear Safety team. We are 20 employees in radiation protection, dosimetry, nuclear safety and radioactive waste who work together to maintain and develop radiation safety in our fuel factory in Västerås.

Your work is an important piece of the puzzle to ensure that we are a radiation-safe workplace, thereby contributing to fossil-free power production for customers all over the world. Ensure that we meet both current and new requirements in the field of radiation protection.

Manage our work with radiation protection and dosimetry, with focus on measurement methods, dose consequence analyses for potential exposure situations and internal dose calculation.

Work with reviews and incident investigations within the subject area.
Nuclear fuel production spans everything from wet chemical processes, via mechanical processing of ceramic and metallic materials, to final assembly of products with high demands on precision and quality. Handle large volumes of uranium makes our operations unique in the Nordic region and creates an equally unique challenge for our personnel working in the field of radiation protection.
You will be based in Västerås, Sweden and you will work onsite in the fuel factory.
We are looking for you
To excel in the position, we believe that you are a motivated person with a sense of quality. You can understand and explain complex reasoning in speech and writing. You have worked in the field of radiation protection for several years, for example at nuclear facilities or in healthcare, and you have a natural focus on development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications

Master of Science in Physics, Health Physics, Engineering Physics or Radio Physics

5+ years of experience in the field of radiation protection

Full professional proficiency in both Swedish and English
Meritorious

Education after your master in a relevant field

Knowledge of external and internal dosimetry
