Reactor Physics Methods Developer

 

Are you an experienced reactor physicist? Are you interested in working with advanced technology, together with a creative team? Do you also want to contribute to a better climate and a future filled with clean energy?

Welcome to our team, we are part of the Global Nuclear Fuel Engineering division, which is responsible for the codes used for core design, thermal hydraulics, criticality analysis, mechanical design, safety analysis, method- and software development.

We are looking for a Methods Developer to join our team to work with the development of core monitoring systems and nuclear engineering tools used to support our daily work in the nuclear fuel industry. You will work with a experienced team of engineers and scientists to develop and maintain our products, both for internal use and in worldwide customer projects.

 

Your contribution for a carbon-free future

As Methods developer here with us, your main responsibility is to develop high-quality methods and software solutions for the nuclear power industry. Among other things, this means that you will:

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable methods to be coded using industry-standard languages and frameworks.
  • Contribute to all phases of the methods development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Participate in methods and code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
  • Communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical team members.

You will be placed in Västerås and we offer a hybrid work schedule. We believe that you live within commuting distance from Västerås, however, we are open to considering more distant locations in Sweden for you.

 

We are looking for you

To succeed in this role we believe that you collaborate well with others and enjoy taking on problems that occur and find a solution. You have experience working in a Linux environment and are motivated by development. We also believe that you excel in an environment that is in a development phase and is curious to learn more about the nuclear power industry.

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Reactor Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 + years of relevant experience.
  • Background with neutronics methods, Lattice codes or nodal core simulators (e.g. Helios, Phoenix5).
  • Programming skills in Fortran and scripting languages such as Python, shell programming.
  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment and are familiar with version control systems such as git.

If you also have experience working with high availability system that is meritorious.
