Welcome to Manufacturing Processes & Testing at Westinghouse. You will be part of a team with 40 specialists working at the forefront of process development, welding technology, non-destructive testing, metrology, calibration, and materials testing. Together, we shape, sustain, and improve the manufacturing processes that power the world's nuclear reactors.

Right now, the factory is in a transformative phase and our ambition is to become the world's safest and most efficient fuel production facility.

 

Responsibilities

Your main responsibility will be to support and develop our pellet manufacturing operations. Among other things you will:

  • Support manufacturing processes, contributing to development, improvement, and investment projects.
  • Provide deep technical expertise to improve our manufacturing capabilities.
  • Participate in projects focused on operational and strategic enhancement.
  • Lead development and qualification of manufacturing processes with efficiency, safety, and long-term reliability in focus.
  • Engage with customers and regulatory bodies to review manufacturing processes and qualification standards.

You will work at the Fuel Factory in Västerås, with a hybrid work schedule with the possibility to work remotely when its suitable with your tasks.

 

We are looking for you

To succeed and success in this role, you have a interest in manufacturing processes and material-related challenges. You are attentive, communicative, and have a interest in learning more about the manufacturing processes in a Nuclear Fuel Factory.

 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Full professional proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
  • 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry or in industry-related research and development (R&D).
  • Experience to lead technical projects.

 

Meritorious

  • Experience in nuclear fuel manufacturing or nuclear technology.
  • Background in powder metallurgy.
  • Familiarity with digitalization and applications of artificial intelligence (AI).
  • PhD in a relevant technical field.
