Structural Analysis Engineer

Welcome to Westinghouse and Global Engineering Services. We are around 1800 engineers globally whereof about 60 are located in Sweden. We have competence within several areas such as structural analysis, thermohydraulic, chemistry, components and safety analysis that contributes with engineering expertise to multiple projects here at Westinghouse.

As a Structural Analysis Engineer, you will be a necessary part in structurally examining that our products to Nuclear Power Plants globally meets the safety requirements set by Westinghouse, our customers, and authorities in different countries

 

Your contribution for a carbon-free future

As a Structural Analysis Engineer, your main responsibility will be to perform calculations and conduct structural verification of components/products for the nuclear industry. Among other things, this means that you will:

  • Perform FEM analyses using ANSYS Mechanical
  • Work with following codes and standards; ASME BPVC, Eurocode and EN13001
  • Be involved in product development
  • Write reports based on your findings
  • Work and understand a range of different components, e.g. Nuclear fuel, reactor internals and field service tools
  • Possibility to be engaged in verifying tests to acquire input data to advanced analysis

You will work at our Swedish headquarter in Västerås, Bränslegatan, with a hybrid work schedule.

 

We are looking for you

To be a good match for this role, we believe that you either has 5+ years of relevant experience or recently graduated with relevant background and the interest to develop.

You are a team player and structured in the way you approach tasks and enjoy solving theoretical problems. Due to the nature of the work and our business, it is very important that you put safety and quality first.

To grow in this role, we also believe that you are communicative and enjoy collaborating with other people. You will work in project-based teams in close collaboration with project managers and other Safety Analysis Engineers. This means that you will learn from other experienced engineers and develop quickly in your role.

 

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Engineering or a similar degree that provides a technical and theoretical foundation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of advanced simulations
  • Full professional proficiency in English

Proficiency in Swedish is very meritorious but not a requirement for this role.
