About the role:
We're looking for a Supplier Performance Engineering Intern who will support our Nuclear Fuels business unit.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Global Fuel Supplier Performance and be located Västerås, Sweden. Model of work: hybrid.
Key Responsibilities:

Support on-site and remote evaluations of suppliers to ensure compliance with technical and quality requirements.

Collaborate in creating plans to monitor supplier activities, document submissions, manufacturing processes, inspections, and tests to ensure adherence to critical requirements.

Work with various departments, including Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Supplier Quality Oversight, to enhance supplier performance.

Help recognize and escalate significant supplier issues, risks, and quality events to ensure prompt resolution.

Help track main performance metrics such as On-Time Delivery and Quality Issues and help implement corrective actions and improvement plans.

Participate in technical assessments of new and existing suppliers to evaluate their manufacturing capabilities, capacity, process controls, and compliance with relevant standards.

Aid in supplier development and qualification activities for new products, improvement projects, and cost reduction efforts, including enhancing suppliers’ manufacturing processes and quality management systems.

Work alongside Design Engineering to ensure clarity of engineering drawing requirements and effective communication to support suppliers.

Help apply Value Analysis/Value Engineering, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles during the design process.
Qualifications:
-
Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Industrial, Nuclear, or Manufacturing Engineering or related field of study..

Academic Standing: Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Technical Skills: Basic understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, non-destructive examination (NDE), inspection, and testing.

Familiarity with process capability analysis and quality tools.

Team player

Industry Experience: Previous internship or project experience in the power generation, nuclear, or related industries such as oil and gas, manufacturing, or supply chain is preffered.
