Technician Metallographic Testing
Are you a quality-conscious and driven person with experience in technology and material testing? Do you also want to work in a high-tech industry with good development opportunities and contribute to a better climate?
Welcome to the Fuel Factory's Quality and Process Department and the Manufacturing Processes and Testing unit. We are about 40 employees in roles such as technicians, engineers and managers. Together we work for the development and control of the factory's manufacturing processes.
We are in an exciting phase where we will help expand the factory and introduction of many new equipment and manufacturing processes.
Your contribution to the transition to fossil-free energy
As a metallography technician, you play an important part in coordinating and supporting destructive testing in manufacturing and development at the Fuel Factory.
This includes:
- Responsibility for conducting metallography examinations
- Ensure that working methods, calibrations and risk assessments are kept up to date
- Ensure that calibrations, maintenance, service and purchase of process materials are carried out on an ongoing basis
- Participate in the progress and development of the laboratory, including manufacturing follow-ups.
- Write work orders and prepare incident reports in need of maintenance
- Lead risk assessments
You will work onsite at the fuel factory in Västerås.
We are looking for you
To succeed and grow in the role, you have an interest in material testing and manufacturing processes. As a person, we believe that you are responsive, communicative, structured and want to learn more about manufacturing processes in the nuclear field.
Qualifications
- Relevant education (2 year or longer) in metallographic, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge in metallographic laboratory work or materials engineering.
- Experience from the manufacturing industry
- Full professional proficiency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
Meritorious
- Experience of industrialization work
- Practical experience in welding technology or non-destructive testing of metallic materials
- Experience of improvement work
