About the role:

As a EHS Engineer you will support Health & Safety (H&S) System and lead activities related to H&S and Radiological Protection across Westinghouse sites and nuclear power plants.

You will report to the Spain EHS Manager and be located at Hospitalet L´Infant.

 

Main Responsibilities:

Dealing with wide range of HS & RP tasks:

  • Safety inspections and risk assessments’ assistance.
  • Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace.
  • Participate in compliance assurance and EMS auditing programs and conduct routine informal facility inspections and sampling to monitor compliance on a real-time basis.
  • Investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence.
  • Training courses assistance (planning and execution). Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee health and safety. May provide assistance and training to employees.
  • Drafting of documents for the access of workers at customer’s facilities (H&S Plans, staff individual accreditations, training evidences, Personal Protection Equipment distribution).
  • Multiple employer sites coordination.
  • RP monitoring and supervision (Exposed Workers received dose management).
  • Support administrative issues related to other areas of EHS

Participates in HS & RP ‘In-Field’ Supervision in Nuclear Plants ‘In Service’ Inspections:

  • Assistance in the elaboration of H&S Plans (hazards assessments and safety measures proposal) and ALARA Plans.
  • ‘In-Field’ Works Supervision during outages nuclear plants (accident investigations, dose monitoring, hygienic assessments, radiological protection and transports, equipment, auxiliary means and tools safety conditions inspections, special hazardous activities planning and supervision).

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Sciences

Master’s in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)

Spanish speaker and English B2 Level

5+ years of in‑field experience in H&S and Radiation Protection within Nuclear Plants

Ionizing radiation–exposed employee

Works with a medium level of autonomy and supervision. Fully oriented to internal and external customers.
