About the role:
As a Licensing Engineering Intern you will report to the Supervisory Engineer and be located at the Vila-seca offices in Tarragona, Spain with a hybrid work schedule (remote and in-office). This is a part-time and paid internship from April 2026, with the possibility to receive course credit.
The Licensing group is part of the Global Engineering Components and Services (GECS) organization and provides technical services for operating and new plants licensing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage licensing activities like:
- Safety Evaluations for Design Changes
- ALARA analyses
- Environmental Assessments
- FSAR of NPP analyses
- Seismic & Environmental Qualifications (Seismic & EQ) Analysis
- Follow up on License Basis Regulations and Conditioned Application Regulations (NAC)
- Preparation of Engineering Studies and Technical Reports related to Nuclear Safety and Radiological Protection
- Participate in local and international projects developing multiple assignments
- Develop expertise in the design, construction, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear power plants
- Develop expertise in US and international nuclear regulations
- Create licensing and technical submittals for utilities and nuclear regulators
- Work in teams to resolve critical issues affecting the construction and operation of nuclear power plant
- Maintain business relationships with other Westinghouse engineers and customers
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering
- Availability to travel to Westinghouse or Customer site (international travel included).
- Proficient in Spanish and English
