About the role:
As an Instrumentation & Controls Intern, you will work with engineers, project managers, and functional leads. You will support technical, administrative, and project coordination tasks while gaining practical experience in a regulated, safety‑critical environment.
You will report to the Project Portfolio Manager, Americas I&C Systems and be located at our Cranberry facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist I&C engineers with documentation, data analysis, and system information reviews
- Support preparation and maintenance of engineering deliverables (e.g., specifications, calculations, drawings, and technical reports)
- Help track design changes, revisions, and configuration management documentation
- Help with project schedules, task tracking, and status reporting
- Participate in project meetings and capture action items and follow‑ups
- Support adherence to Westinghouse quality, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Help with internal reviews, audits, and documentation compliance activities
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, supply chain, and project management teams
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, instrumentation & controls, systems engineering or related technical field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Experience with instrumentation, control systems, or electrical systems
- Exposure to engineering drawings, technical documentation, or configuration control
- Familiarity with project management concepts
- Interest in nuclear energy, power generation, or regulated industries
- Experience with engineering tools, databases, or document management systems
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
