About the role:

As a Chief Engineer, Advanced Plant I&C you will provide Global Instrumentation & Control organizational leadership around I&C products and interface with APX team.

You will lead projects to support improvements in the capabilities of the I&C organization to strengthen the capacity to support the I&C business market's growing internal and external demand.

 

You will report to the VP, GOS and I&C Engineering. This is a hybrid role located in Warrendale, PA.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships and lead the organization to work with other Westinghouse departments and external partners in understanding and developing customer-centric products based on market needs for the Advanced Plant-related I&C and work with Chief Engineer Operating Plant I&C to jointly promote the optimized support for both product segments.
  • Provide Leadership to oversee I&C's organizational support for Advanced Plant product and projects.
  • For assigned strategic programs, lead the I&C engineering organization and the internal and external interfaces to lead partnerships to support the teams in completing projects, on time, within budget and with high quality.
  • You will lead assigned projects to support improvements in the capabilities of the I&C organization and strengthen the capacity to support the I&C business market's growing internal and external demand.
  • Provide Technical Leadership for global I&C on strategic matters. Ensure technical leadership which understands the needs of internal and external customers, technological opportunities associated with business strategy, and industry knowledge.
  • Both for support of APX BU, and for assigned projects, lead the identification of and execution of efforts to guide product costs down through cost optimization, value engineering, use of external partners, improved and lean processes.
  • Lead setting standards of competencies, skills and behaviors within the I&C engineering organization to support the APX teams in completing projects, with qualified resources on time, within budget and with high quality.
  • Support the Chief Engineer Operating Fleet I&C's leadership for development of the Westinghouse owned I&C platforms.
  • Engage with and jointly support the Chief Engineer Operating Fleet I&C's leadership of the TLDP program for I&C.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (software, electrical or computer science), Advanced degree helpful
  • 20+ years' experience required in a leadership position both leading and working with large teams or organizations, in instrumentation and control systems and broad experience leading aspects of the plant design for which the I&C supports.
  • Development and engineering of customer- oriented products and solutions which directly support our goals.
  • Form and foster executive-level relationships with customers, partners, vendors, and Westinghouse BUs.
  • Demonstrated successful offer development skills in estimating and completing complex programs
  • Demonstrated proficiency of the Westinghouse Quality program and Level 2/3 procedures. Expert proficiency in FOAK and NOAK development processes.
  • Proficiency with global codes and standards and defense of common requirements.
  • Oversee small to complex engineering activities, focusing on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.
  • Scan the environment to verify products are adding value internally and externally. Extreme cost conscience to avoid non-value-added efforts.
  • Apply comprehensive engineering knowledge to lead through complex and difficult technical and interface challenges

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $162,200 to $202,500 per year. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
