About the role:
As a Plant Computer & Annunciator Systems Engineering Manager you will lead a cross functional team to evolve, innovate and standardize the plant computer and annunciator product line across the Global Instrumentation & Control organization. The position will require direct management and continuous development of knowledge workers who directly and indirectly report to the role to deliver global projects across the nuclear power industry.
You will report to the Controls and Information System Engineering Senior Director. You will be hybrid reporting out of Warrendale, Pennsylvania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible as a resource and technical manager for 15+ personnel
- Responsible for the effective operations of the engineering team of and ensure standards of quality (including effective management of the corrective action program), cost (including utilization of resources to meet assigned targets), safety (both ensuring a NSC as well as personnel and Industrial safety), reliability, timeliness and performance are met in engineering processes.
- Develop resources and lead people development activities. Prepare and successfully implement training and development plans with emphasis on long-term resource needs. This include providing feedback, evaluation for merit and promotion as well as addressing performance issues.
- Develop innovative solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations. Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction.
- Oversee and successfully implement product development projects – considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement objectives.
- Identify and allocate adequate resources for each project need, from the technical offer phase to the end of execution.
- Lead the team with a strategic focus, communicate vision for future and promote culture that aligns with organizational goals. Develop culture that values a safety conscious work environment, technical excellence, personalized customer service and human performance fundamentals.
- Orchestrate and drive cost efficient product or service delivery which meets or exceeds business plan objectives
- Responsible for group financial performance (including planning and forecast). This would include items like resource productivities and group cost centers / spending.
- Drive technology continuous improvement and standardization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of applicable experience, including 5+ years of leadership experience
- Knowledge and experience in Nuclear Plant operation and I&C systems, specifically in Plant Computer is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge and experience in Ovation (Emerson) Platform is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated successful offer development skills in effectively estimating, planning and executing significantly complex projects/programs.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams and interfacing with multiple teams.
- Oversee engineering activities and opportunity management, conveying feedback on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.
- Continually scans the environment to verify products and services are adding value to both the customer and Westinghouse.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
