EMEA Project Quality Manager, APX QEHS

As the EMEA Project Quality Manager, APX QEHS, you will lead AP1000 projects. You will also be responsible for product quality assurance activities. Additionally, you will provide support to projects and to the APX Delivery Business Unit organizations during project development. Responsibilities include providing QEHS inputs for bids and proposals, managing the AP1000 quality assurance program and its implementation, preparing and implementing project QA staffing plans, and overseeing deliveries of products and services of scope. This role, in the future, will manage a staff of quality professionals to ensure implementation and maintenance of the Westinghouse Quality Management System for AP1000 new plant projects.
This position bases itself in EMEA and can offer remote, hybrid, or on-site / in office (anchor) arrangements.
Responsibilities:

Manage the quality assurance scope of a project, including developing quality (and EHS) cost estimation for bids and proposals and risk identification.

Lead a team of QA engineers to perform multiple quality assurance and oversight functions. These functions include further development and implementation of the Westinghouse Quality Management System, project quality plans, and project procedures. The projects involved are New Plant Projects and the APX Delivery Business Unit.

Poject quality lead (manager) for early phases of AP1000 project(s), participating in design reviews, implementing internal audits, surveillances, and self-assessments.·

Assure QA staff is trained and manage employee performance to achieve project and organizational goals.

Develop annual department budget and manage expenditures to achieve budget projections.

Maintain compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System for project preparation and execution for AP1000 new opportunities, and for other New Plants Projects.

Lead and/or support Business Unit improvement programs. These programs include Corrective Action Program, Human Performance program, Indoctrination, Training, and Qualification programs Promote a mature and healthy Nuclear Safety Culture. Nurture and assure a Safety Conscious Work Environment.

Promote safe, error free performance through active use and promotion of Human Performance tools and organizational learning.

Communicate and implement quality assurance best practices through continuous improvement.

Ensure rigorous programmatic oversight of specified activities.

Recommend and implement solutions to quality problems, take swift, corrective and preventive actions, and communicate and implement solutions to appropriate partners.

Ensure change management, keeping clear and open lines of communication with other Quality organizations, Corporate and Business Unit organizations, leadership, regulatory agencies, customers, and suppliers.

Work with other intercompany Quality organizations to ensure compliance, process consistency and to share best practices and lessons learned.
Qualifications:

BS degree or equivalent in engineering / technical field

10 or more years of quality assurance experience required in positions of increasing responsibility

ASQ CMQ/OE certification, ISO/NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor (optional)

Broad knowledge of nuclear quality assurance regulations, codes, and standards.

Working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear power regulations is important. These regulations include 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI, and 10CFR21. Additionally, comparable international regulations and standards are important, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.

Experience applying Nuclear Safety Culture and Human Performance principles.

Knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication and testing work processes.

Ability to work within a global organization and ability to create value and achieve buy-in among a diverse workforce.

Leads by example, setting high standards for performance, accountability, and ownership while applying strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to 25% for peak times)

Responsible for a budget of up to ~ $50,000,000

Manage up to ~ 25 employees (in the future)
We are currently looking for a candidate based within the EMEA region. The salary ranges provided in this posting apply to candidates located in Poland; however, we are also open to considering applicants based in other EMEA countries, where compensation may vary depending on the local market.
We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 21,250 to 26,533 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
