Environment Health and Safety (EH&S) Expert ensures that all environmental, health, and safety requirements correctly integrate into the design documentation for the construction permit. You will provide expert guidance during the design phase of projects, ensuring full compliance with Polish BHP, environmental, and technical safety regulations. You will collaborate with engineering, architectural, and permitting teams to ensure that all required safety elements are identified, designed, documented, and ready for submission to authorities. You will work in a hybrid model.
Responsibilities:

Review project concepts, layouts, and detailed engineering plans to ensure compliance with:

Polish BHP (Occupational Safety & Health) regulations
-
Construction Law
-
Fire protection regulations (PPOŻ)
-
Environmental protection requirements
-
Technical and machinery safety regulations
-

Identify required safety systems and design features (e.g., evacuation routes, emergency access, ventilation, hazardous area controls, machine guarding zones, noise isolation, ATEX areas)

Prepare and deliver all EHS-related inputs into the Design Documentation, such as:

Hazard identification and initial risk assessment relevant to the design

Requirements for emergency routes, signage, and safe access

Technical notes on health and safety considerations in the designed facility

Documentation confirming compliance with applicable EHS regulations

Work with architects, structural engineers, mechanical/electrical designers, and external consultants to incorporate safe design principles.

Advise on selection of safe materials, technologies, and processes to reduce operational risks.

Support responses to authority questions or required design modifications.
Qualifications:
-
Master's degree in Safety Engineering/BHP or Post graduate studies in Occupation Health & Safety/BH Certified Polish EHS Expert
-
8–10 years of EH&S experience in large infrastructure or energy projects in Poland.

Proven experience engaging with Polish permitting agencies and ministries to support regulatory and compliance processes.

Experience working with design offices or engineering teams.

Familiarity with Polish permitting processes and construction law.

Hands‑on experience interpreting and applying Polish BHP regulations, fire safety guidelines, and building code standards in operational environments.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Skilled in analyzing complex information and evaluating risks to support informed decisions.

Able to guide design teams toward safe, compliant, and practical engineering solutions.

Certifications:

Specjalista ds. BHP or Starszy Specjalista ds. BHP qualification
-
PPOŻ/fire safety training or certification
-
Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards including safe design principles

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be 17,000 to 21,225 PLN gross per month. In addition to the base pay, this role may be eligible for incentive pay based on company and individual performance.
